No place like Llysyfran for champs
05/03/2009After a five year wait, there's no place like home for this year's Pembrokeshire YFC pantomime champions. Llysyfran YFC won the county English pantomime competition at Ysgol Bro Gwaun, Fishguard, with their production 'Beyond the Yellow Brick Road' based on The Wizard of Oz.
Six clubs had battled it out for one of three coveted places in the final, but it was Llysyfran who shone brightest in the eyes of judge Jane Brace, winning the competition for the first time in five years and picking up the trophy for best costumes along the way.
South Pembs YFC claimed second place, along with the technical achievement trophy and Wayne Shanklin named best individual performer.
Llawhaden YFC were placed third, with the best act trophy awarded to Brawdy YFC.
Keyston and Tiers Cross YFCs completed the line-up of competing clubs.
Llysyfran will now go on to represent Pembrokeshire at the all Wales pantomime finals in Port Talbot on March 7th.
