Successful stock-take
20/10/2008Young farmers from Pembrokeshire have proved they come from good stock, with a strong showing at the national dairy stockjudging finals.
The competition, held at the Dairy and Livestock Event in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, saw Caroline Lewis, of Llysyfran YFC placed second in the senior section, just behind the winner from Carmarthenshire.
Pembrokeshire'y team of Caroline, Jane Elliott, of Llawhaden YFC and Llysyfran's Caitlin Davies were then placed a creditable 11th out of 36 teams.
The event was a remarkable success for Carmarthenshire YFC, as they picked up the dairy team trophy and saw members Rhys Thomas and Angharad Thomas named senior stockman and young stockjudge of the year.
