Racing through a summer of sport
30/06/2008Forget about Euro 2008 and the Olympics in Beijing, the competition could not be fiercer for Pembrokeshire YFC's summer of sport.
Members have already tackled rugby, thrown themselves into darts and pool and gone head to head for the indoor sports final.
Brawdy YFC outwitted their opponents from Keyston in games of draughts, dominoes and tipit to take the indoor sports title.
Clynderwen YFC also proved that they are a sporty bunch, with Alun Griffiths top of the pots to take the pool title, alongside Jody Bates who won the ladies singles darts and mixed doubles with Dafydd Wright. Nick Belton from Keyston won the men's singles darts.
Llawhaden YFC made it four wins on the trot in the rugby competition, battling past seven other clubs and overcoming Clynderwen in the final.
There are plenty more sports competitions to be played this summer, including dodgeball, rounders, football and netball.
Teams will now go on to represent Pembrokeshire at the Royal Welsh Show, Wales YFC agm or national competitions finals.
